Formula 1 : a real Montreal GP with real potholes.

Starting on Wednesday of last week, all media started to serve us, like every year, the overcooked and stale praise of all the F1 drivers for the Montreal GP, the circuit, the city, the fans, the restaurants, the squirrels...

It was therefore both unexpected and extremely refreshing when, on Saturday and Sunday, they suddenly spoke from the heart and screamed at the pathetic and fast deteriorating state of the track.

Their love of Montreal was probably until then so blinding the existence of potholes in the city real streeets had not come to their attention.

Even Raikonnen was pissed off, a state a Finn usually only reaches after a few litres of pure alcohol.

Even the gentle Massa, after the race, threatened not to return next year -despite his love for the city, the fans, the squirrels...- if the problem was not solved once and for all.

And now, the Formula 1 circus has left for France and the drivers will soon wax lyrical about Magny-Cours, a circuit in the middle of nowhere, where they will probably never return, but which they loved so much.

You need a very big heart to be a good Formula 1 driver.
